The new entry-level machines will face competition from rival models such as the Canon Color imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020 and C2030, the Konica Minolta bizhub C220, the Kyocera TASKalfa 205c and 255c, the Ricoh Aficio MP C2051 and MP C2551, the Sharp MX-3111U and the Xerox WorkCentre 7125. The e-STUDIO2050c, 2550c, 2051c and 2551c are some of Toshiba’s least-expensive A3 color MFPs to date. Other consumables include four OPC drums (CMYK) and four developer units (CMYK) with yields matching the duty cycles of the machines, a fuser unit, transfer belt unit, second transfer roller, transfer belt cleaning unit and waste toner box. The black toner container is rated at 38,400 pages, based on a page with 5 percent coverage, and each color SKU (CMY) prints 33,600 pages. The e-STUDIO2050c, 2550c, 2051c, and 2551c employ a new set of consumables and use a new pulverized, dual-component toner with a very low melting point, which features more wax than Toshiba's previous toner. Toshiba also offers a range of additional paper feed options for all four devices. ![]() By contrast, the lower-end e-STUDIO2051c/2551c come with a 7-inch display and Toshiba offers an optional job separator for the two units but no wireless interface option. Additional features of the e-STUDIO2050c/2550c include a 9-inch color LCD panel, optional 160 GB hard drive, optional wireless functionality and finishing options that include a saddle-stitch finisher, inner finisher with multi-position hole punch and staple capacity of 50 sheets. The four machines can also accommodate an optional 100-sheet RADF. Automatic duplex printing is standard with the e-STUDIO2050c/2550c and optional on the 2051c/2551c. All of the machines ship with a paper-input capacity of 350 sheets the e-STUDIO2051c and 2551c are expandable to 2,000 sheets, while the 2050c and 2550c are expandable to 2,900 sheets. The more fully featured e-STUDIO2551c and 2550c offer print speeds of 25 ppm with duty cycles of 70,000 pages. The e-STUDIO2051c and 2050c print both black-and-white and color documents at 20 ppm with monthly duty cycles of 56,000 pages. These new A3 MFPs are some of the first devices produced under OKI Data and Toshiba TEC’s new joint-development agreement. ![]() The e-STUDIO2050c, 2550c, 2051c and 2551c feature OKI-manufactured LED print heads, while the rest of the platform is Toshiba-designed. The new machines are print, copy, scan and fax units, and sit below the e-STUDIO2040c and the e-STUDIO2045c. Toshiba has added to its selection of color A3 MFPs with the release of four new entry-level units: the e-STUDIO2050c, 2550c, 2051c and 2551c. Manufacturer does not publish consumables pricing.
